The deed is done

Mark left today for the Washington Spokane Mission. It is about 6 hours later and I am still crying. This was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. I am glad he chose to go but I will miss him so much. We really did have more time together than I had with my other kids because he has been an "only child" for quite a while. My evenings will be long and boring now. Rick is back on graveyards until they get some more electricians hired (and they are having trouble finding people who will work for what they are paying). David was so excited to leave us at the MTC, but Mark was not so happy. He cried along with me. He says he'll miss Allie and Preston most. He is such a great kid!

It is getting close!

I know I am a terrible blogger, but then again most of you are terrible commentors. It is no fun to post if people don't reply.
Life has been pretty hectic. Working full time has been a lot harder than I thought it would be. I love my class this year and love having control of what goes on, but it takes a lot of time. I have had a hard time keeping kids on track and correcting late work. Hopefully they will keep getting better on that front.
I have also been buying suits and coats and etc. etc. for Mark. He leaves in one week. Yes, that is 7 days from today. :( I wouldn't have it any other way, but I am not excited about losing him. He and I have gotten pretty close over the last couple of years. Many nights we were the only ones home and have had some great bonding moments. The good thing about that is that I will have lots of great memories to sustain me. The bad part is that I will miss him so badly. We had quite a scare this weekend. Mark had gone to see David (well really he went to see Preston) and he fell off his bike and sprained his ankle. He was worried that it was broken as his track record is not very good. He is sporting a cute little splint but is starting to bear weight on it. We were afraid that he would have to put off leaving if his leg had been broken.
Can I tell you what a great kid Mark is? He is very kind and loving with Allie and Preston. He has an intense sense of right and wrong and always errs on the side of "too righteous" rather than not good enough. He has been so diligent reading his scriptures and getting prepared to serve. Enjoy his pictures. Maybe someone can help me figure out how to put together a little video of him. He would hate that, but I would love it.
