Wow! A new blog

Rick and I took a great jaunt to Capitol Reef National Park. Here Rick is on our little hike. It was a nice easy walk, except for the 0.2 miles that was straight up and hence the backwards 0.2 that was straight down. I still get pretty panicky when hiking down slick places. You would think that after 20 years I would be alright.

This is the Temple of the Sun and The Temple of the Moon.

Our first look down into Cathedral Valley. This was a road in the north end of the park that is a 2 wheel drive, high clearance road - perfect for our RAV4. It took several hours on this road but was great fun! We were going to ford a stream as well but chickened out.

This was just to show the size of some of the monuments. You can see how tiny Rick looks, and that is without being able to see the top of the "cathedral".
We missed having the girls with us BUT.... it is so nice to be in that time of life when we can just take off and really enjoy each others company. I do have a pretty great spouse and I am so glad that he likes to go on adventures.
