Recipes

April said some of you wanted a couple of recipes. I will put them here

Fat Man's Misery
1 (20 oz) pkg. Oreo cookies, crushed 1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream softened(we use mint)
1/2 C. butter, melted
Mix cookie crumbs with melted butter and pat into a 13 X 9 pan. Freeze. Spoon ice cream over and freeze well.

Topping:
2 C. confectioners sugar 2/3 C. chocolate chips
1/2 C. butter 8 oz. frozen whipped topping, thawed
1/2 C. evaporated milk Salted Spanish peanuts or pecans (optional)
Combine sugar, butter, mild and choc. chips and boil for 8 minutes. Cool well. Spoon over ice cream. Spread whipped topping over choc. sauce and sprinkle with nuts. Cut into squares and keep frozen until served.


Mexican Chocolate Cake
1 stick margarine 2 squares choc (or 4 T cocoa)
1/2 C. oil 1 C. water
Combine and heat until melted

Mix 2 C. flour 2 beaten eggs
1 t. soda 4 T. cinnamon +/-
2 C. sugar 1 t. vanilla
1/2 C. sour milk
Add to hot mixture. Grease pan. Bake . Frost while warm

Frosting
1 stick margarine 2 squares margarine
6 T. milk 1 lb. powdered sugar
1 t. vanilla 1/2 c. pecans (opt.)
melt marg. and chocolate. Stir in the rest.

Do you really use sour milk? How sour? I would like to try to make this some time.

You really use sour milk. I don't usually have any on hand so I make it by putting a tsp. of vinegar in the milk. That curdles it.
