See, I do blog sometimes

I haven't been doing so well lately. David has not heard from UC SanDiego, which probably means he is on the "seconds" list. If all their favorite candidates don't chose to go there they will eventually offer a spot to Dave. He is competing against people who already have their masters degrees (one girl from Yale, now living in Utah), so it is better than an outright rejection. He leaves in the morning for Rochester, NY for his last interview. Then he leaves with his leaves with his little family next Monday for several months in Taiwan. They will stay between two and 5 months, so we may not have much time with them before grad school. He has to decide where he wants to go to school before April 15th. It will be pretty quiet around here after losing three people. The babies will sure miss each other - they have a normal love/hate relationship. We won't move Mark back into his bedroom until Sept. because we hope they really do come back for a month or two. Then we will have a futon in the small room so they can always come visit. Of course, that means the bedroom will also be open to all of you...hint, hint.

This is parent teacher conf. week so I will be crazy, but it is the last one this year. We had a parent tell us today that she has arranged for a tutor for her son who is seriously behind. She wouldn't let him go to get extra help at the school because it is a bad stigma for the kids. The catch now..... He will have to miss an hour of class a week to go to the tutor! Yeah, getting further behind in Social Studies may help him catch up in reading. Oi!

Sounds like David has a lot going on right now. I didn't realize they were leaving so soon. I bet your house will be a whole different place. Is Dave disappointed to have not heard from San Diego? Also, could you clue me in, is he going to get a master's degree or a PHD, or one of those combo deals?

David is doing a straight to PHD program. He is a little disappointed not to have heard from San Diego, but he is not surprised.
